This site is a tribute to WILFRID BALMER, who was born in Brighton, East Sussex, England on November 20, 1913 and died there on February 3rd, 1997 surrounded by family. Husband of Anna Balmer (1923-2016) and father of Maria-Rosaria, Edmund, Anthony, Richard, and John. Grandfather to David, Joanna, Martin, Stephanie, Caroline, Paul, Owen, and John. He  is much loved by his family and friends and a great grandson is named after him (the son of Caroline and Henry). We will always remember his love, kindness, gentleness, along with his ready wit and wisdom. He was one of a kind and, perhaps, the last of a kind. Greatly missed by his children and grandchildren we are all honoured to have been part of such a loving family. Wifrid and Anna Balmer were wonderful parents and grandparents.

A Sung Requiem Mass was celebrated on 10th February, 1997 at St. John the Baptist catholic chapel, 2 Bristol Road, Kemp Town, Brighton.   He was laid to rest at the Lawn Memorial Park, Woodingdean, Brighton close to his parents Thomas and Edith Balmer. Anna, his greatly adored Italian wife, was laid to rest with him in June 2016.
